Welcome back to the blog, Shabazz K. Farrakhan, ADN here. Liver Disease in America is very common and not a shocker. Death rate of 16.4% per 100,000 Americans and over 100 million Americans deal with this which is roughly about 1/3. 33% of our population which is 16,400 people a year which is the size of some suburban cities and the size of multiple rural towns. Imagine a whole town dead, that's a big deal. Alcoholism, obesity and gambling culture play a part. I've been in MMA for almost 2 decades, closed plenty of fights via. spinning heel kick to the liver & I'll say this. The brain, heart & liver are meant to be protected and regeneration needs to promoted during and post combat. That brings today's topic, why you should take Milk Thistle and an Everyday Liver Vitamin together daily with food and emphasis on it not being processed or fried, those foods may aid in the urgent or instant but in totality lead to a weakened immune system and low vitamin deficiency which is a major factor in some many illness related deaths in the United States of America.
Milk Thistle Dosage Recommendations:
1. Adults
- General Liver Health: 140-210 mg of silymarin per day
- Therapeutic Use for Liver Conditions: 420-800 mg of silymarin per day
2. Children
- Dosage for children should be determined by a healthcare professional, as it can vary based on age and weight

- Women: 700 mcg/day

3. Vitamin C

- Women: 75 mg/day

Weight-Based Dosage Considerations:
For weight-based dosing, the dosage of certain medications and supplements can be adjusted based on body weight. Here are some examples:
1. Children
- Dosages for children are often calculated based on weight (mg/kg). For example, a common dosage for acetaminophen (Tylenol) in children is 10-15 mg/kg every 4-6 hours, not to exceed 5 doses in 24 hours
2. Adults
- Some medications, such as antibiotics and certain pain relievers, may have weight-based dosing recommendations. For example, the dosage of vancomycin, an antibiotic, is often calculated based on body weight (15-20 mg/kg) and adjusted based on kidney function

- Vitamin B12
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D3
Low doses of prednisolone.
A combo great for liver function is Calcium + Fiber foods, a lot of foods have both. I'm not no keen on consistent dairy but Kefir & Greek Yogurt is excellent for such.
Now, foods you need to be eating very frequently for fiber, calcium or both simultaneously:
- Okra
- Spinach
- Collards
- Navy Beans
- Black Eyed Peas
- Lima Beans
- Raspberries
- Black Eyed Peas
- Avocado
- Swiss Chard
- Cauliflower
- Almond
- Miso Soup
- Quinoa
- Salmon
- Acai
- Goji
- Dates
- Lemon
- Watermelon
- Guava
Zinc after this comes in effective and works with well, Guava is great for this and has a decent amount of protein.
A good meal to eat daily to get all of these nutrients are Lamb cooked in Olive Oil, Sauteed Spinach, Lima Beans and Pomegranate Juice. This will aid big time & throw out all of your seed oils, it's poison.
Breakfast - Tomato/Avocado Omelette, a bagel w/Acai Bowl and Watermelon with a homemade blueberry, goji & kefir smoothie
Lunch - Salmon/Quinoa/Tabboleuh Salad with a drink concoction of Cayenne, Ginger, Clove, Ceylon Cinnamon, Turmeric & Peppermint
Snack - Dates, Almonds, Walnuts & 3 cups of Okra with water
Workout Meal - Greek Salad with Red Wine Vinegar and Pomegranate & Pumpkin Seeds with an Earl Grey Tea with Damiana Root and Elderberry
Dinner - Lamb, Sauteed Spinach or Sauteed Swiss Chard, Lima Beans with Pomegranate Juice.
Now, you need 2 workouts within this day. This aids liver health by keeping the fat off, helps with muscle mass and detoxifies the body by keeping your temperature high.
Work on swimming, basketball and cycling at first for 2 hours for that training section.
Next one, work on weight training such as Bulgarian Squats, Lunges, Ankle Strap, Cable Fly, Sled Push, Tire Flip, Landmine Press, Bench Press, Weighted Pushups, Leg Presses, Nordic Curl, Romanian Deadlifts, Ab Crunch Machine, calisthenics such as pull ups & MMA particularly Muay Thai or Taekwondo to burn a lot of fat and BJJ or Judo to improve strength base and ability to burn a lot of calories and build a strong frame.
Take a mix of fish oil, cod liver oil, black seed oil and krill oil in a blend as a prep drink and make a pre-workout drink of Lion's Mane, Ginger, Cacao, Red Reishi, Ginseng, Maca Root, Tongkat Ali, Nettle Root, Fadogia & Bitter Kola rather than these unhealthy overly sugary workout powders.
If any issue persists, go speak to your local hepatologist and PCP.
